Concerned About Fluoride In Your Drinking Water?
Addition of fluoride to drinking water for the purpose of preventing tooth decay has been going on in the U.S. since the 1940s. But there's scant evidence that drinking water fluoridation is good for kids' teeth and no evidence that it does a thing for adults. And many in the scientific community believe fluoride in drinking water does far more harm than good. Are you one of the growing number of people who feel fluoride in your water may be harmful to the health of you and your family?
Potential Health Effects
Fluoride exposure has been linked to a number of other disorders such as skeletal fluorosis and a discoloration of the teeth known as dental fluorosis, thyroid disease, arthritis, gastrointestinal distress, neurodegenerative diseases, glucose intolerance, bone fragility, developmental problems in children (including ADHD) and possibly cardiovascular disease and some types of cancer.

Because of these health concerns, many countries, including nearly all of Europe, have discontinued fluoridation. In August of 2014, Israel outlawed fluoridation. However, this questionable practice still is allowed in many countries and the U.S. And while about 70% of the U.S. residents currently consume fluoridated water, there's a long and growing list of cities and communities that have rejected fluoridation over the last decade or so.

Gravity filter systems that require no plumbing and counter-top or under-counter filter systems that connect to your home’s water supply can be configured with highly effective fluoride removal filters that can remove nearly all of the fluoride from your drinking water. If you’re one of the growing number who believe fluoridation is an unnecessary and perhaps dangerous form of “forced” medication, you might want to consider fluoride removal.
