The Tannins test checks for the presence of tannins in your water. Tannins are naturally occurring organic material that can be created as water passes through soil and decaying vegetation. Tannins cause aesthetic issues like discoloration (yellow or tea color) which can cause staining on laundry, fixtures and fabrics. Tannins also can cause a slight taste to the water as well as a possible musty odor.
The test kit contains all the materials needed to collect the water sample, including detailed instructions on how to collect your sample and where to return it. The sample does not require overnight shipping. Test results are typically completed and e-mailed within 5-7 business days from the date the sample is received at the laboratory.
