The Quick Nitrate/Nitrite test checks for Nitrates & Nitrites in your water. Nitrates can occur naturally; however the major sources of nitrates and nitrites in drinking water come from fertilizers, sewage and feedlots. These contaminants can be harmful to infants (can cause methemoglobinemia or blue baby syndrone).
The test kit contains all the materials needed to collect the water sample, including detailed instructions on how to collect your sample and where to return it. The water sample will require overnight return shipment to the laboratory which is not included in the price of the test kit. Test results are typically completed and e-mailed within 2-3 business days from the date the sample is received at the laboratory.
